This page explains how to delete your FootPrints account and the data we hold about you. Deletion is permanent — once your account is removed, your itineraries, saved places, Travel Wallet documents, and trip history cannot be recovered.
1Delete From Within the App (Fastest)
The FootPrints mobile app offers self-service account deletion. From any device you are signed in on:
- Open the FootPrints app.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompt. Your account and all associated data are removed immediately and you are signed out.
No email round-trip, no support ticket — deletion happens in real time.
2Delete By Email (If You Cannot Access the App)
If you have lost access to your device, your account is locked, or you cannot sign in for any reason, email us and we will delete your account on your behalf.

Subject: Account Deletion Request
Please include:
- The email address associated with your FootPrints account
- The approximate date you created the account, if you remember it
- A short confirmation that you are the account owner and wish to delete the account
For security, we verify ownership by confirming control of the registered email address before deleting. We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with the timelines set by the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and the Indian DPDPA.
3What Gets Deleted
When your account is removed, we permanently delete:
- Your profile (name, email, phone number, profile photo, preferences)
- Every itinerary, saved place, trip note, and uploaded photo
- Every document in your Travel Wallet (passports, IDs, tickets, insurance)
- AI chat history and personalisation signals
- Source Platform extractions (reel imports, shared links) tied to your account
- Authentication identifiers from Apple, Google, or email/password sign-in
4What We Retain (And Why)
A narrow set of records is kept after deletion only where we are legally required to do so or to protect against abuse:

Subscription billing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To cancel an active subscription before deleting your account, follow Apple’s or Google’s cancellation instructions — deleting your FootPrints account does not automatically cancel a recurring subscription billed by the store.

5Shared Itineraries and Co-Travellers
If you shared an itinerary with another FootPrints user, the copy on their account is theirs and is not deleted when you delete yours — the same way an email you sent stays in the recipient’s inbox. Your name is removed from the shared record where technically possible.
6Reactivation
We cannot reactivate a deleted account. If you change your mind after deletion, you are welcome to sign up again — you will start with a fresh, empty account.
